Bristol Rovers and Wrexham have both been charged by the FA following a post-game melee in their League One fixture on Saturday, 21 December.
The melee erupted after the full time whistle in a game which saw Bristol Rovers equalise late on for a 1-1 draw.
It is alleged both clubs failed to ensure players “did not behave in a way which is improper and/or provocative”.
The clubs have until Monday, 30 December to respond.
The FA statement said: “Bristol Rovers and Wrexham have been charged following a mass confrontation during their EFL League One fixture on Saturday, 21 December 2024.
“It is alleged that, following the conclusion of the fixture, both clubs failed to ensure that their players did not behave in a way which is improper and/or provocative.
“Both clubs have until Monday 30 December 2024 to respond to the charge.”
Wrexham’s James McClean and Steven Fletcher, as well as Bristol Rovers captain James Wilson, were all shown yellow cards after the full-time whistle at the Memorial Stadium.
