Baby bat surprises Glasgow couple after travelling in suitcase

A baby bat surprised a Glasgow couple after it emerged from a suitcase on their return from a holiday in the Highlands.

Alex O’Neill and his partner had travelled 150 miles (240 km) home from Kinlochmoidart Estate in Lochailort only to find they had an extra passenger.

The tiny bat, which has been named Raspberry, was handed into the care of bat expert Tracey Jolliffe, who helped her back to full health.

Raspberry then travelled back north with a Welsh family, the Darlingtons, before being handed over to countryside ranger Eilidh-Ann Philipps who released her in the Kinlochmoidart Estate.
