Adam Idah: Swansea City and Republic of Ireland striker out for up to three months

Idah has played second fiddle to Swansea’s 12-goal leading scorer Zan Vipotnik, with only five league starts among his 20 appearances for the Welsh club to date.

Idah scored his third Swansea goal to secure victory over Wrexham shortly before injury struck.

With Liam Cullen also sidelined, youngster Bobby Wales has been involved in Matos’ recent squads, while attacking midfielder began up front in the New Year’s Day win over West Bromwich Albion.

There is better news of Josh Key, who missed Sunday’s defeat at Millwall but could feature in next weekend’s FA Cup third-round tie against the Baggies.

Matos said Key’s injury is “not massive”, adding: “It’s just regarding the puncture he had on the foot, so he will probably be back for the cup game.”
