Man in critical condition after gun fired in Greater Manchester

A man has been seriously injured after a gun was fired, police said.

Officers, including armed police, were called to Higher Road in Urmston in Trafford, Greater Manchester, at 20:40 GMT on Friday.

Emergency services treated one man at the scene and Greater Manchester Police said he remains in a critical condition.

The road has been cordoned off and extra police patrol have been deployed in the area while the investigation continues, the force said.
