Adam Idah: Swansea City striker suffers hamstring injury blow

Swansea were beaten at Coventry despite competing admirably with the leaders, with Zan Vipotnik and Liam Cullen among those to miss chances as Ephron Mason-Clark struck the only goal of the game shortly before half-time.

Swansea’s fourth defeat in seven matches under Matos – and a fifth in succession on the road – means they are only four points clear of the relegation places at the midway point in the Championship season.

“We are building,” Matos said. “Every game is feedback. Every situation is something we need to analyse and see what we need to improve.

“Step by step we need to keep going. I was really proud to see us playing against Coventry in their stadium, in this way, trying to dominate them and trying to be competitive against one of the best teams.

“We need to keep pushing ourselves to start climbing the table.”
