XL bullies seized after fighting in Dundee street

It comes just a few months after the breed was subjected to tough new restrictions after being linked to a number of attacks.

Owners now risk a fine for failing to muzzle the animals and keep them on a lead in public under rules which took effect in Scotland in February.

The abandonment, breeding, exchanging or selling of the dogs has also been banned, with penalties of up to £5,000 imposed for a breach.

The legislation was introduced following concerns over an influx of XL bullies to Scotland since the UK government brought in controls on the dogs south of the border last year.
