Woodbridge’s Bill Kober, 98, faces BBC press-ups challenge

A 98-year-old man has defeated a reporter nearly 70 years his junior in a press-up contest.

Bill Kober, from Woodbridge, Suffolk, does 20 press-ups each morning and 20 at night – explaining that he believes “if you don’t use it, you lose it”.

BBC Suffolk reporter George King, 31, challenged him to a press-ups contest and came off significantly worse.

He said: “Bill is remarkable. I really tried as hard as I could, but Bill put me to shame.”
