Women’s Super League: Warrington unable to finish season and relegated

Warrington Wolves have withdrawn from the Women’s Super League with them unable to fulfil their remaining two fixtures of the season.

They had been unable to put a team out for their home game with Leeds Rhinos last Sunday because of injuries and player availability issues, with Leeds awarded a 48-0 win, a situation that had already occurred for the match on 27 July at home to St Helens.

Now after discussions with the Rugby Football League (RFL), Warrington have confirmed they cannot complete the season.

Their matches at home to Leigh Leopards on Sunday and at Wigan Warriors on 14 September have been cancelled, with their opponents awarded 48-0 victories.

Currently in last place in the table after losing all their matches, Warrington will now drop out of Super League.
