A woman in her 20s has been injured in a racist attack in south Belfast.
It happened on Botanic Avenue at about 09:30 BST on Wednesday.
Police said a racist remark was said during the incident and they are treating it as a hate crime.
They added the victim received hospital treatment but has since been discharged.
“This was an unprovoked attack on a young woman which has resulted in injury,” a police inspector said.
“This area was fairly busy at the time and we’d ask anyone who witnessed this assault or who observed a man, matching the description of her alleged attacker, to get in touch.
“He is described as being aged between 30 and 40, of slim build and wearing a grey tracksuit.”
