Wigan police arrest teenager on suspicion of stun gun possession

Police bodycam footage has captured the moment a teenager was arrested on suspicion of possessing an electric stun gun.

Officers on patrol near Wigan bus station at about 19:00 GMT on Saturday heard screams and saw someone holding a weapon, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.

The force said a 16-year-old boy was questioned on suspicion of firearms offences before being released on bail pending further inquiries.

Insp Jon Ezard said: “This incident demonstrates the seriousness of having a weapon like this. Using it in a public place is not only dangerous but extremely foolish.”
