Mum-of-one Ali Alcock is urging people to have regular cervical screenings after undergoing the routine test saved her life.

Ms Alcock, a social worker from Corwen, Denbighshire, successfully underwent treatment after being diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2015.

She said that when she got back in her dad’s car after being given the all clear they celebrated the good news in a perfectly fitting Welsh way – by singing.

She has now been clear of cancer for 10 years and says she is passionate about encouraging others to get tested.
