Warning of traffic delays during work in Inverness city centre

On Monday the work area is planned to move next to a bus stop on Castle Road. Traffic will be controlled by four-way lights.

The westbound lanes of Bridge Street will be closed and traffic will be directed around using the eastbound lane.

The southbound lane of Castle Road will also be closed and traffic will be diverted using the northbound lane.

A single lane will be closed on the southbound side of Bank Street and the eastbound lane on Ness Bridge.

On Tuesday, the work will be moved to the junction of View Place and Castle Road with a three-way traffic light system in place.

A number of pedestrian crossing points will be suspended and replaced temporary ones.

Highland Council said: “Warning signs will go out this week advising motorist that delays will be likely and to use alternative routes if possible.”
