US is ‘negotiating with itself’ says Iranian military

Iran has issued a response to claims that peace talks are under way by US President Donald Trump.

In a message issued on Wednesday, Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, the country’s main military command (without mentioning the US and Trump’s name) has talked about “the self-proclaimed global superpower” – saying “do not call your defeat an agreement”.

It follows the US president sending a 15-point plan to Iran, repeating his statements about talks with a high-level Iranian official. President Trump said Iran had given the US a “very big present worth a tremendous amount of money”.
