The Armagh and Donegal county boards have both been fined 7,500 euro following a brawl at the end of May’s Ulster football final.
The sanctions for the provincial finalists were confirmed by the GAA’s Central Hearings Committee (CHC).
The punishments had initially been proposed by the Central Competitions Control Committee (CCC) for ‘disruptive conduct by players’, in contravention of Rule 7.2d 3, in July.
However both counties requested a CHC hearing, which took place on Friday.
The CHC upheld the decision so both parties now face paying fines, although an alternative route is available in the form of a further appeal to the Central Appeals Committee.
The melee broke out as Donegal were celebrating a narrow extra-time 2-23 to 0-28 win over the Orchard county and then reigning All-Ireland champions at St Tiernach’s Park in Clones on 10 May.
Gardai (Irish police) intervened to separate the two sides.
