Two rescued after sailing boat runs aground in Loch Ryan

Two people have been rescued after a sailing boat ran aground off the coast of south-west Scotland.

Stranraer RNLI’s inshore lifeboat was called out by HM Coastguard at about 13:45 on Monday to assist the vessel.

They traced the 31ft (10m) boat in south Loch Ryan and helped two individuals to the shore.

A few hours later they were taken back to their boat which was refloated on the rising tide and towed to Stranraer marina.
