Two men have been taken to hospital after what has been described as a “serious assault” at a business in East Kilbride.

Emergency services were called to the business on Wilson Place at about 13:25 on Monday.

Two men, aged 45 and 41, were taken to hospital for treatment.

Police are believed to be “keeping an open mind” as to whether the incident is related to a spate of gangland violence across central Scotland in recent months.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 13.25 on Monday, 19 May, 2025, we received a report of a serious assault on Wilson Place, East Kilbride.

“Emergency services attended, and a 45-year-old man was taken to University Hospital Hairmyres.

“A 41-year-old man was conveyed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. Inquiries are ongoing.”
