Two boys, 14, charged after 70-year-old man injured in Stornoway

Two 14-year-old boys have been charged after a 70-year-old man was taken to hospital in Stornoway, Lewis, with serious injuries.

Police were alerted to a disturbance in a premises on Macaulay Road at about 22:50 on Saturday.

A police spokesperson said: “Officers attended and a 70-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

“Two 14-year-old male youths have been charged in connection and a report will be sent to Scottish Children’s Reporter Administration.”
