Trump names Sylvester Stallone, Mel Gibson and Jon Voight as special ambassadors to ‘very troubled’ Hollywood

President-elect Trump announced three special envoys on Thursday with the purpose of promoting business in Hollywood.

“It is my honor to announce Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone, to be Special Ambassadors to a great but very troubled place, Hollywood, California,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

“They will serve as Special Envoys to me for the purpose of bringing Hollywood, which has lost much business over the last four years to Foreign Countries, BACK—BIGGER, BETTER, AND STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE!”

He added, “These three very talented people will be my eyes and ears, and I will get done what they suggest. It will again be, like The United States of America itself, The Golden Age of Hollywood!”

Stallone, 78, called Trump the “second George Washington” while introducing the 47th president at the America First Policy Institute Gala in November.

“We are in the presence of a really mythical character. Nobody in the world could have pulled off what he pulled off, so I’m in awe,” the actor said.

“When George Washington defended his country, he had no idea that he was going to change the world because, without him, you could imagine what the world would look like. Guess what? We’ve got the second George Washington. Congratulations!”

Gibson, 69, backed Trump in the 2024 election while also taking a swipe at Vice President Kamala Harris. The “Braveheart” star was asked about the presidential race after landing at Los Angeles International Airport.

“I don’t think it’s gonna surprise anyone who I vote for,” Gibson said in video obtained by TMZ.

When the cameraman mentioned Trump was a “bad guess,” Gibson quipped back, “I think that’s a pretty good guess.”

“I know what it’ll be like if we let her in,” Gibson said, referring to Harris. “That ain’t good. A miserable track record, an appalling track record, no policies to speak of, and she’s got the IQ of a fence post.”

Voight, 86, an outspoken conservative actor and longtime supporter, once declared Trump to be the “greatest president since Abraham Lincoln.”

“Don’t be fooled by the political left because we are the people of this nation that is witnessing triumph,” Voight said in a two-part message shared on X in 2019. “So let us stand with our president, let us stand for this truth that President Trump is the greatest president since Abraham Lincoln. God bless America.”

That same year, the “Ray Donovan” star became the first recipient of the prestigious National Medal of Arts under Trump’s first administration.
