Trump hush-money trial live: Stormy Daniels cross-examination

Susan Necheles is now trying to discredit aspects of Stormy Daniels’ allegations of a sexual encounter
with Trump. She begins to ask Daniels about the details that she provided in court on
Tuesday.

Necheles asks if she met with the prosecutors before testifying,
and if they asked her to include lots of details about the events where she
first met Trump, to bolster her credibility.

Daniels responds that yes, she was supposed to include “true
facts”. (It’s important to remember that witness preparation is a standard part
of all trials, and each opposing party can do this.)

Necheles begins to ask Daniels a series of questions about the
specific details – the floor, the suite she allegedly met Trump in, who was at the 2006
golf tournament – trying to undercut Daniels’ recollections.

For the most
part, however, Daniels appears to keeps to the details she has already shared publicly.

Trump’s lawyer is looking for inconsistencies in Stormy Daniels’
story, between her book and the testimony she gave on Tuesday, to try and
undercut her credibility.
