Below normal temperatures are expected for this last week of January. Temps will likely stay near or below freezing from today through Monday!

A few flurries or mountain snow showers are possible Tuesday evening/night and possibly again Wednesday night. Little to no accumulation is expected in the valleys tonight into Wednesday morning. Areas near the KY/VA line and also from the Whitetop area down through the mountains to TN/NC may see a dusting to 1″ of snow.

Partly to mostly cloudy Wednesday and Thursday. Highs around 30 to 35 through Friday.

There is a chance of snow in the region for part of Friday into Saturday, but details are uncertain. A this point a light snowfall is possible in the valleys (perhaps moderate in the mountains). A dry snow is expected with lows in the lower teens Friday night. Check back for updates and more details.

Another shot of arctic air is expected with highs of 15 to 20 Saturday! The record coldest high for Saturday is 19 set in 1966. Breezy with wind chills in the single digits valleys and below zero mountains! Lows around 5 to 10.

Decreasing clouds with highs in the 20s Sunday. A warming trend is expected Monday through Wednesday of next week.

The normal high for this time of year in the Tri-Cities is 47. The normal low is 26.
