Three police officers have been injured during disorder in Londonderry.

Fireworks and masonry were thrown at officers in the Nailors Row area of the city between 21:30 BST and midnight on Monday.

Two officers were struck by masonry, while a third was hit by a firework, the police said.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of riotous behaviour and was later released on bail pending further enquiries.

Videos, which were widely circulated on social media, showed a number of youths gathering near the city’s walls.

A number of fireworks could be seen being directed towards officers close to a line of police vehicles.
