Thorpeness homes demolished at eroding coastline

Drone footage has shown the ongoing demolition work at a Suffolk village under threat from erosion.

Work to take down one detached home and five apartments within a single building, in Thorpeness, began earlier this week.

East Suffolk Council says that 10 properties are due to have been demolished in the period stretching back to October.

Three more properties are at immediate risk, the council has warned.

The Environment Agency announced earlier this week that the area would benefit from a share of £30m to support people faced with erosion.
