American golfer Jack Nicklaus holds the record for the most Masters Championship wins with six career titles at Augusta National.

Nicklaus won the title in three different decades, claiming the famous green jacket in 1963, 1965, 1966, 1972, 1975 and 1986.

He is also one of three only three players to have successfully defended the title with wins in back-to-back years.

Fellow American Tiger Woods, the tournament’s second-most successful player with five wins, went back-to-back in 2001 and 2002.

England’s Nick Faldo also defended his Masters title in 1990, having also won it in 1989.

The trio are among only eight players with three or more career Masters titles.

American Arnold Palmer won four between 1958 and 1964, while Jimmy Demaret, Sam Snead, Gary Player and Phil Mickelson are all three-time Masters winners.

Ten other players have won the title twice, with current world number one Scottie Scheffler among that number following wins in 2022 and 2025.
