Tesla Created a $225 Balance Bike for Tots, and It’s Already Sold Out

Tesla has taken over electric vehicles, solar panels and robotaxis, and now it’s targeting bikes for kids. The tech manufacturing giant has developed a $225 balance bike for toddlers with a five-way adjustable seat and no pedals or brakes, complete with the Tesla logo plastered on its frame.

The website says the bike is recommended for children between the ages of 2 and 5 (or 6, according to the manual), with a minimum leg length of 13.7 inches and a maximum weight limit of 77.1 pounds.

Although Elon Musk’s company is known for its electric vehicles, the balance bike is motor-free and only powered by your littl’un’s legs. As of Friday, it’s already sold out (although it’s unknown how many balance bikes were in stock to begin with). Tesla is also selling a matching balance bike T-shirt for $30.

This isn’t the first product Tesla has developed for children. Tesla’s website has a section dedicated to its youngest demographic and already sells an electric-powered ride-on Cybertruck for Kids priced at $1,500, an ATV called the Cyberquad for Kids retailing at $1,650, and smaller model car toys like the wind-up Cybercab

Tesla previously partnered with Radio Flyer to design the Tesla Model S for Kids, which has since been discontinued, but you can still buy parts for it. The Cyberquad was previously recalled, because it had safety violations related to its mechanical suspension and maximum tire pressure.

Although some Tesla fans have been hoping for news of an e-bike, Musk has previously said he finds them dangerous after he experienced an accident while riding one as a teenager, and said he would not be producing one.

A representative for Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for further comment.
