Shriever has won three of the past five World Championships but has yet to retain her title.
Will 2026 be the year she achieves this as well as becoming the only rider to win four World titles?
In the men’s elite race, GB’s Kye Whyte and Ross Cullen will be competing.
Whyte, who won silver at the 2020 Olympics and the 2022 Worlds, will be looking to improve on last season’s quarter-final exit.
Cullen was unable to compete last season through injury, but has been in good form going into the championships.
However, the pressure is on as no Briton has won the men’s elite race since Liam Phillips in Auckland in 2013.
