Teenager charged with murder in Ipswich Billy McNicholl death

A teenager has been charged with murder after a man was found dead on New Year’s Day.

William McNicholl, 63, known as Billy, was found at a home on Hawthorn Drive, Ipswich, on 1 January.

A Home Office post-mortem examination found the cause of death to be due to head injuries and a stab wound to the right shoulder.

Jake McMillan, 18, most recently of Banbury Road, Hackney in London, but formerly of Ipswich, has now been charged with murder

Mr McMillan has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

He was also charged with being concerned in the supply of cannabis.

A woman aged in her 50s, previously arrested on suspicion of murder before being released on bail, has been told she will face no further action.
