The dad of rugby league star Rob Burrow, who died last year after battling motor neurone disease (MND), has called for better access to treatment for those living with the illness.
“There’s enough stress with MND without having to worry about adaptions and treatments. Cut the red tape, get people onto trials,” Geoff Burrow told BBC Radio Wales Breakfast.
He was speaking alongside the family of Kyle Sieniawski, who was diagnosed with MND aged 13, the rarity of which Mr Burrow said could be used to raise awareness.
“Kyle is literally one in a million… let’s use that one in a million tag to make sure that millions get behind him,” he said.
