Taylor Swift Launches a New Instagram Feature Inviting Fans to Remix Others’ Stories

Taylor Swift’s new album, The Life of a Showgirl, came out Friday, and Instagram isn’t going to shake it off. The social media app is rolling out a brand-new Stories feature, and Swift’s account was the first to get to try it.

The feature, called Add Yours Clips, expands the existing “Add Yours” sticker into a multimedia experience. Instead of just responding with a photo, users can remix the original Story with their own clips while keeping the creator’s audio and text locked in.

Taylor Swift is the first to test-drive it, launching her own “Add Yours Clip,” a glittery orange Add Yours sticker that matches the color of her latest album.

It’s the first time Instagram has made Add Yours fully multimedia. Instagram is clearly betting on Swift’s superstar status to turn the new feature launch into a full-on viral social media moment.

Celebrities aren’t the only ones who can use the feature. Instagram users can participate in the feature on Swift’s account or that of anyone else who is using it.

But regular Instagram users can also create an Add Yours multimedia experience for their own account by going into Stories, clicking the plus button, and then clicking Multimedia.
