Wrexham 2-3 Swansea City: Swansea secured their place in a second consecutive Adran Trophy final with victory over Wrexham. Aimee Deacon struck the opener for the Swans with just two minutes on the clock at The Rock. Stacey John-Davis put the visitors in command from the penalty spot on the stroke of half-time after Deacon was brought down in the box. Carra Jones bagged her second goal of the campaign just after the hour mark to give Wrexham hope. Emily Richards restored Swansea’s two-goal advantage before Liv Fuller struck in added time for the hosts who left it too late to find an equaliser. The final will take place on Sunday, 9 February.

The New Saints 3-2 Briton Ferry: The New Saints produced an astonishing comeback as they came from two goals down to beat Briton Ferry and reach the final for the first time. Lucy Powell struck her seventh senior goal of the season from the penalty spot early on, with Maia Owen making it 2-0 soon after. Emily Ridge set up a tense finish with a goal for the hosts on 82 minutes, and Maria Francis-Jones levelled proceedings five minutes later. Chantelle Teare capped off a remarkable turnaround in the second minute of added time as the Adran Premier leaders set up a final showdown with Swansea.

Barry Town United 3-2 Cardiff Met: Barry Town survived a fightback as they claimed victory over bottom side Cardiff Met to rise to fourth in the Adran Premier. Ingrid Aadland put the hosts ahead from outside the box inside the opening minute at Jenner Park. Danielle Broadhurst made it 2-0 in the 19th minute with her first goal on her second debut for the club after re-joining from Swansea. Keira Harris bagged her second league goal of the campaign six minutes later as Met desperately struggled to cope. Beca Thomas gave Met a lifeline on the half hour mark, with Ruby Colleton scoring her side’s second in the 55th minute. But the capital outfit were unable to find a late leveller as they remain rock bottom having failed to win any of their 11 league matches this season.

National League South

19 January

Exeter City 1-1 Gwalia United: James Thomas began his reign as Gwalia United manager with a hard-fought point at Exeter City Women. The hosts struck on the 11th minute and it was a stunning half-volley from Mollie Taylor which gave goalkeeper Laura O’Sullivan-Jones little chance. Gwalia responded well and were back on level terms on 18 minutes. Kylie Nolan played in Kiera O’Keefe whose shot struck a hand in the box to win her side a penalty, which the captain Chloe Lloyd coolly slotted home. Both sides had chances for the winner in a feisty encounter, but they had to settle for a draw. Exeter remain third in the division, while Gwalia climb out of the drop zone into 10th.
