Suspect charged over death of man from Larkhall, South Lanarkshire

The suspect was due to appear before Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday.

In a statement, Mr Kennedy’s family said: “Iain was a much-loved brother, son and friend.

“He will be missed by all who knew him and we would ask that we are given privacy to come to terms with our loss at this time.”

Det Insp Mark Dines said: “Our thoughts are with Mr Kennedy’s family and friends at this most difficult time. Officers are continuing to provide his family with support.”

Chief Insp Neil Smith, local area commander, said additional patrols would be carried out in a bid to reassure the local community.
