A passenger who died in a two-car crash has been named as a “cherished mother, nana and rock of the family”.
Elaine McCulloch, 63, died following a crash involving a grey Ford Focus and a black Mercedes GLA near Shotts, North Lanarkshire.
The crash happened at the junction of the A71 and B715 at about 12:50 on Friday.
McCulloch, who was a rear-seat passenger in the Ford, was pronounced dead a short time later.
Her family said in a statement they were “devastated on the passing of our cherished mother, nana and rock of the family” and offered “thanks to everyone who has reached out to offer their condolences”.
The male driver of the Ford was taken to hospital for treatment and the driver of the Mercedes was uninjured.
Sgt Gary Stewart, of Police Scotland, said: “Inquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and we are continuing to appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.”
