Stranded woman rescued from Oulton Dyke in stormy weather

A vulnerable woman was rescued in stormy conditions after becoming stranded on a riverbank.

Hemsby Lifeboat, near Great Yarmouth, Norfolk said it was called to Oulton Dyke, near Lowestoft, Suffolk, at about 21:00 GMT on Friday.

A statement from the independent lifeboat said its crew “quickly found the individual” who was taken across the river to a rendezvous point.

The woman was taken to hospital for a check-up.
