Stranded surfer rescued in California after spelling out ‘HELP’

A kite surfer that became stranded on Davenport Landing Beach in California was rescued after a private helicopter pilot spotted the word “HELP” spelled out with rocks and alerted the authorities.

The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection helicopter crew airlifted the surfer to safety. Authorities said the kite surfer did not require any medical attention.
