Starmer confirms smoking ban extension being considered

The PM said that more 80,000 people die each year due to smoking and these were “preventable deaths”.

Sir Keir Starmer confirmed the government was looking at extended restrictions on bans on smoking in public areas such as pub gardens. He said it had to take action for the NHS, which was “on its knees”, and the taxpayer.
