South Ferriby: Residents bemused by street-sign spelling error

Other residents questioned how the mistake wasn’t spotted, including 43-year-old Claire Jennings, who wondered “how many hands it had gone through, from being made, to two gentleman installing it” without anyone noticing the error.

Dean Molds, 32, asked “What would the Queen think if she knew?” while 72-year-old Dorothy Mills said she hadn’t noticed the error until her grandson pointed it out.

She said that the “gentleman who took it back” on Monday morning said he “should have checked it”.
