Some schools in County Tyrone have been closed due to what have been described as “security concerns”.

In posts on social media, Strabane Academy and Holy Cross College have said they will not open on Monday.

“Any children already en route, we would ask that parents make arrangements to collect them,” Strabane Academy said in their post on Facebook.

Holy Cross College also posted on Facebook that they are closed “due to a security concern”.

Strabane Academy said that a text has been sent out and the school will provide an update with further information “as soon as possible this morning”.

BBC News NI has contacted the Police Service of Northern Ireland for comment.
