Five men and a woman have been charged over the alleged abduction of a man in Dublin.

They were due to appear before court on Sunday evening.

The charges are also part of a gardaí (Irish police) operation targeting a suspected organised crime group in the west of the city.

On Saturday, more than 100 gardaí searched several homes in the greater Blanchardstown area.

A house suspected of being the location where a man was held against his will was sealed off and forensically examined.

Earlier in the week, drugs and firearms were seized as part of the investigation.
