Simon Harris: ‘I thought he must be on work experience’

Heather Humphreys, deputy leader of Fine Gael, describes the first time she encountered Simon Harris in the Dáil (lower house of the Irish parliament) in 2011.

She was speaking as she proposed Mr Harris as the new taoiseach (prime minister) of Ireland.

Simon Harris was installed as the Republic of Ireland’s youngest ever taoiseach in Dublin on Tuesday.
