Man who died in four-vehicle crash named as Dylan McCann

The person who died in a four-vehicle crash in Newry has been named as 23-year-old Dylan McCann.

The crash, involving a lorry, van and two cars, happened on Monday morning at the junction between the Armagh Road and Church Road.

McCann, from Cookstown, was driving one of the cars and died at the scene. Two people were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Det Insp Stewart, from the collision investigation unit, said the report came in at 06:30 BST.

“”The collision involved a white Scania lorry, white Renault Master van, blue BMW and white Toyota Auris,” the officer said.

“Medical treatment was provided to those injured – however, very sadly Dylan was pronounced deceased at the scene.”

“Both the passenger and driver of the van remain in hospital where they are receiving treatment for serious injuries, while the drivers of the Toyota Auris and the Scania lorry were uninjured.”
