Scotland lose to Turkey at World Curling Championship

Scotland sustained a third defeat at the Women’s World Curling Championship as Switzerland recorded a 9-5 win.

Fay Henderson’s rink had opened with an extra-end defeat by China and bounced back with a comprehensive 8-3 victory against the United States before losing 5-3 to Turkey.

Against the Swiss, Scotland led 5-4 after the fourth end but Xenia Schwaller’s rink finished strongly.

Team Scotland – made up of Henderson, Lisa Davie, Hailey Duff and Katie McMillan – next face Denmark then Sweden.

Hosts Canada as well as Japan and Turkey lead the standings with three wins out of three. Switzerland have three wins and one loss so far.
