Opposition politicians’ calls for an inquiry after the Peter Murrell scandal have continued, with MSPs voting instead for an independent review of all political parties’ finances.

But there’s new controversies too – with unrest in parts of Scotland following riots in Belfast. And an explosive resignation from Sir Keir Starmer’s government as John Healey quits as Defence Secretary.
