Ellie Wilson, a rape survivor and campaigner against sexual violence, has been arrested and charged with domestic abuse related offences.

In a statement, Police Scotland said: “A 28-year-old woman has been arrested and charged and released on an undertaking to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on 23 April 2026.”

In July 2022 a man was found guilty of two charges of raping the former Glasgow University student, and sentenced to five years in prison.

Wilson, who waived her anonymity, became known for her campaigning on behalf of victims.

Daniel McFarlane was jailed for five years and placed on the sex offenders register for attacks between December 2017 and February 2018.

Wilson had secretly captured him admitting to his crimes by setting her phone to record in her handbag.
