Rap group Kneecap will no longer play at Cornwall’s Eden Sessions this summer, organisers have said.

Eden Sessions Limited said the group’s show at the Eden Project on 4 July had been cancelled and ticket holders would be contacted.

It comes after the Belfast-based group apologised to the families of murdered MPs Sir David Amess and Jo Cox after a clip on social media that appeared to show one of the band members saying during a performance: “The only good Tory is a dead Tory. Kill your local MP.”

In a statement, Kneecap said they rejected “any suggestion that we would seek to incite violence against any MP or individual. Ever”.

A reason for the show’s cancellation was not given.

The band announced on Facebook that it would instead be performing at Plymouth Pavilions on the July date.

In a statement Eden Sessions said “the Kneecap show at Eden Project scheduled for 4 July 2025 has been cancelled”.

It said ticket holders would be approached for a full refund from 30 April.

Other artists in the Eden Sessions 2025 line-up include Biffy Clyro, Gary Barlow, Madness and The Script.
