Inverness Royal Academy was closed to pupils on Monday

Inverness Royal Academy has been closed to pupils after staff discovered a water leak.

Highland Council said the leak had been isolated, but investigations were ongoing to find out how much damaged had been caused.

A spokesperson said: While teams carry out their work power supplies may be disrupted, so in the interests of safety the decision was taken to close the school for today.

“Further updates will be issued in due course.”

Inverness Royal Academy is the largest school in the Highlands and has a roll of more than 1,300 pupils.
