ON AND OFF SNOW TODAY WITH ANOTHER BURST THIS EVENING

  • Type: All snow and fluffy due to cold temps in place
  • Timing:On and off light snow will continue Monday. Most accumulation was overnight.Last burst of snow will move through Monday evening.
  • How Much: 12″ to 18″ for most. Coastal York County and Seacoast New Hampshire may see a little bit more than 18″. (See map below)
  • Wind: Northeast 10 to 15 MPH. Gusts 20 to 30 MPH. Widespread outages not expected.
  • Coastal Flooding: Significant coastal flooding is not anticipated. The forecast tide is expected to be 11.4′. Flood stage in Portland is 12′. Splash over and beach erosion are possible.

We will see a break in the snow through the morning hours. On and off snow is expected around midday before another burst of steady and heavier snow moves through late this afternoon and evening. An active wind will keep the fluffy snow blowing around and could drop visibility at times. Winds will also keep our feel like temperatures below zero for most of the day.

The kids will head back to school on Tuesday and temps will stay cool, with lots of sunshine in the forecast for the week. I don’t anticipate any melting through the end of the month. There are no big storms in the extended forecast.
