Temperatures officially made it above 32 today! Combined with another day of sunshine, we’ve been able to melt more of the snow on area roadways. The roadways have again become wet and slushy, but going into the night, that will freeze back up. So, we will still need to be on the lookout for black ice the next few nights and mornings. Tonight could also see the chance for patchy freezing fog to develop. This is just one more reason to take it slow tomorrow morning.
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy and cold again with a low of 12. With light winds out of the north at only 2 to 5 mph, areas of patchy freezing fog could develop. These will impact surfaces, especially elevated ones like bridges and overpasses, and could create a glaze of ice on untreated surfaces.
WEDNESDAY: After the fog dissipates, we’ll be looking at sunny skies with a high near 38. Winds will be out of the southwest at 5 to 10 mph.
THURSDAY: Partly cloudy with a few flurries with highs near 38. Winds will turn from the south to the north at 10 to 20 mph.
By Friday, a stronger cold front will push through. Highs will only be around 29 with a few more flurries, but the cold air will really be felt by Saturday morning. Lows then could be in the low single digits with wind chills down into the -5 to -10 range. Saturday afternoon may only top out into the low 20s. Some additional flurries are possible Sunday with highs in the upper 30s.
Next week will see temperatures finally returning to normal in the 40s and 50s. It will be then when you can get your car washed!
