Port Vale: League One club announce death of supporter taken ill at match

A Port Vale supporter who was taken ill during their League One match on Saturday has died, the club has announced.

The club said that life-long Vale supporter Bill Leek was taken ill at half-time during the home game with Peterborough and passed away in hospital overnight.

A tribute will paid at their next home game, against Blackpool, on New Year’s Day, which the club has designated as their ‘Port Vale Remembers’ fixture.

“The thoughts of everyone at the club are with Bill’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time,” said the club.
