Poppy display found dumped in Wainfleet All Saints park

A poppy display ripped from a town’s market cross has been found dumped in a park.

Poppies, attached to netting, had been draped on the Butter Cross in Wainfleet All Saints, near Skegness, ahead of Remembrance Sunday.

It was removed at some point on Friday night.

Town councillor Wendy Bowkett said its removal had been met with anger among residents but confirmed it was found on Saturday morning and was now back in place.
