Police believe the fire at the former cinema building in Lochgelly was started deliberately

Police believe a fire at a derelict cinema building in Fife was started deliberately.

Four fire crews and a height appliance were called to the scene at Bank Street in Lochgelly on Friday afternoon.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was able to extinguish the blaze, however the area around Cook Square remains closed, with locals urged to stay away.

Officers are now treating the blaze as wilful and have asked for anyone with information to come forward.
