A pilot had to be cut from their aircraft by firefighters after it crash landed in a field.

Crews were called to the scene in Talgarth, Powys, at about 11:40 GMT on Saturday where they had to stabilise the wreckage before rescuing the person from it.

The pilot was then taken to hospital before the fire service left the scene at about 13:50.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “The extrication was especially challenging with fuel lines running throughout the aircraft’s chassis and aviation fuel stored in its wings.”

The ambulance service, an air ambulance and police also attended.
